Can an occlusal splint be made by thermoforming?

Yes. Thermoforming is a well-established method for producing hard, soft and hard/soft occlusal splints. Material and thickness are selected according to the appliance design, and the formed splint can then be trimmed and adjusted. With an Erkoform machine and Occluform-3, the opposing bite can also be incorporated during forming to reduce subsequent occlusal adjustment.
