What is the difference between vacuum forming and pressure forming?

Vacuum forming uses negative pressure beneath the model to draw the heated material onto it. Pressure forming uses positive compressed air above the sheet to press it onto the model. Pressure systems provide greater available forming force, but this does not automatically make the finished appliance better. Model preparation, material temperature, sheet selection and machine design are also important. The best system depends on the appliance and workflow.
