Common causes include repeated flexing during insertion and removal, bruxism, excessive material thinning, sharp or rough trim lines, deep undercuts and normal material fatigue. Cracks often start at areas of concentrated stress. Correct model preparation, sufficient material thickness and smooth finishing can reduce the likelihood of premature cracking.
