TPU is a flexible and elastic thermoplastic polyurethane used where softness and resilience are required. It may be used as a soft appliance material or as one layer in a multilayer sheet. Erkoloc-pro, for example, combines a hard PETG layer with a softer TPU layer, giving the finished appliance a comfortable tooth-facing surface and a harder external surface.
