PETG is relatively rigid and dimensionally stable, so it is commonly used for retainers, hard splints and other appliances where shape stability is important. EVA is softer and more elastic, making it better suited to applications such as sports mouthguards where flexibility and impact absorption are required. Neither is universally better; the choice depends on the appliance being produced.
