Which material can I use for a occlusal splint?

  • Erkoloc-Pro (Hard/Soft): Best for general comfort and long-term stabilisation. The soft side rests gently on the teeth and gums. The hard outer surface resists wear from grinding and can be easily adjusted or built up with standard acrylics.
  • Erkodur (Hard): Best for rigid, traditional Michigan-style splints or when precise occlusal adjustments via grinding and rigid contact points are mandatory. It is made of tough PETG but offers less initial comfort for sensitive patients.
  • Erkoflex / Erkoflex-95 (Soft): Best for short-term use, temporary relief, or soft-elastic protection. Avoid using purely soft materials for heavy, long-term bruxism because they can stimulate chewing reflex or wear through quickly.
